Xintiandi is an urban renewal / historic renovation project located in the historic French Quarter of Shanghai. Many of the “shikumen” red brick houses from the 1920’s and 1930’s were retained and renovated to accommodate high-end retail, restaurant and entertainment venues. It is the anchor project of a 23-block urban renewal project consisting of residential, office, retail and urban park blocks.
Mr. E.C. Liu was responsible for the planning and development of Xinatiandi for the project developer.
